The Basics Of Timeshares Resale
So, you bought some timeshares hoping to capitalize on them for a vacation you have planned for the summer. But by some stroke of luck, or misfortune (hopefully not), things came up which forced you to do some rescheduling. You have to sacrifice your previously planned trip, and this could make your timeshares a lost investment.
Fear not, though. There is a solution available for you. It's called timeshares resale, or the act of reselling your timeshares in the secondary market.
Indeed, there is a perennial market - and a big one at that - for previously purchased timeshares. The components of this market can be classified into two groups:
- those who wish to purchase timeshares at a lower price, given the fact that they won't be dealing with the original distributors and that the timeshares resale offers are usually borne out of happenstance; and
- those who have missed out on previous offers and are more than willing to take up the timeshares that successful purchasers are about to drop.
The first group, naturally, would expect a lower price for the timeshares you will offer for resale. They are of the belief that they will be doing you a great favor in assuming the responsibilities for the said timeshares, hence, a substantial discount would be a more the justifiable compensation for the same.
The members of the second group, on the other hand, are more than willing to buy your timeshares resale offer at the standard market price, or even with a reasonable markup. They WANT these timeshares, and you can provide the opportunity for them to actually own these commodities.
The best audience, of course, would be the second group. However, tagging this segment of the market would depend on some factors which determine the value of timeshares resale offers. These are:
- The location of the hotel, motel, resort, condo unit, vista, or vacation home that the timeshares pertain to. Is it a hot spot for tourism? Is it on the list of top places to visit?
- The amenities that can be found in the accommodation subject of the timeshares.
- The general demand for the timeshares and whether such is seasonal or one that continues all year round.
- The prospects for the location of the place which is the subject of the timeshares.
- The price point.
The best timeshares resale possibilities are those that can provide something favorable with respect to the factors above. If your timeshares can promise to meet the expectations set by these factors, then you won't have any problems reselling them, if ever the need arises.
